Today's Featured Biography
Ching Choy
Aaahhh, I am finaly done with school. I am
graduating in May (2003). What's next? Humm
I have apply for a Unix System Administrator
job here at UI (University of Idaho), if I
don't get this job, then I will go to China
for a year. Just to learn my root, and have
fun :)
This cow town (Moscow) is quite boring. Not
much to do here, even though Spokane is just
hour and half drive away, it does not make
thing any better.
I think fishing is the most enjoy-able here.
Spring Vally is just 20 min. drive.
Hayburn Park is about 1 hour, and Elk River
is about 1 hour also, Dworshak Dam is about
1 hour drive, so.... there's quite a few
places to fishing, camping, or just site seeing.
Seatle is about 5 hours drive, and I have
been there a few times, I like that place
alot, I am looking forward to go again some
time soon I hope. I didn't forgot Boise, I
go back to Boise at least once every semester
(winter and summer)
Yep, that's my five years in Moscow. :(
------- 22/9/2003 Chinese date -----
well as you can tell, I am in China now.
I have been here a month now and finally sync
into the Chinese time. I am taking a Chinese
class. I realy love this place. I wanted
to get a job here and stay here. There's lots
of good places to go and good food to eat.
the best of all, I am losing weight.
The weather in ChengDu is not so great but
live-able. I would love to stay here, but I
can sure check out some other places in China.
---------- 1/17/2006 ---------
I have worked in EDS since 8/15/2005. I
am still looking for an engineering job. I
work lots of over time and save up some money
to travel back to China in the summer.
All I do at work is answer telphone and solve
customer's computer issues; hardware, software, you name it...... It's an easy
job, but........... Oh, the customer is the
US Navy, superduper top secret ;)
I have put up a web site since I cam back from China. It's not much, but some pictures and bio.

------------ 4/9/2006 --------------
I got a new job at Micron. I am now a
software engineer. I write Python, Perl code
for their testing systems. I started the 3rd
of April. There's lots of learn about there
testing systems.
Micron pays me more than I expected, I can't
believe it. Next year, about summer, I'll
go back to China. I hope I will have enough
vacation time saved up.
----------- 7/9/2007 ---------------
Well, bad news this morning. After I sit down
at my desk, check my email and then my
supervisor came to my cube and said I need
to go to the his supervisor's office. When
I go in there, there was a lady siting there,
and she gave me a folder. I have been handed
a pink slip: got lay off.
I have already purchased my ticket to China
so I am still going to China though I got lay
off. Traveled around Shanghai and Yunnan for
2 weeks. Got married in Shanghai China.
After I back from China, I keep looking
for a job and found a contractor job in the
Seattle area with a company call Excell Data.
I will work in Microsoft for about 4 months.
------------- 2/29/2008 -------------
Need to wait for another 4 years to make a
post on this date :D.
In January, IBM Shanghai China emailed me,
about my past job offer. IBM will give me
2000 yuan a month more as the base salary. I
talked to my wife and she said the pay is OK
after the increase and I can try it.
After the Chinese New Year, on Feb. 18th,
IBM contacted me again to talk about the job
offer. I took the offer and IBM will submit
the unofficial phone offer to the CFO and HR
for an official offer.
I will be heading to Shanghai China on
March 16th and start my job on about March
24th. The working environment is different
from the US, I hope I can get used to it. Wish
me luck.
------------ 12/30/2011 --------------
Back to the US on about June of 2010. Just quit IBM at Shanghai China, worked there for 2 years. During these two year, I had a daughter and my wife is now in the US with me.
On about July of 2010, I got a job interview with Nokia in Germany. They flew me there for two days. Fun trip. Germany seems to have a month of holiday or something, and didn't get a call back for a long time.
I also interviewed at Amazon.com at Seattle. Got an offer in a week after the interview. I took it and moved my stuff to Seattle from Boise -- not much left there. I still own a house in Boise and looking forward to selling it some day.
