Today's Featured Biography
Lynnette Parkinson Amundson Forkas
After high school, I got married and moved to San Diego. I graduated from San Diego State majoring in Math with a minor in computer science. I then received my teaching credential. After 5 years of teaching math, I became the Dean of Activities at a middle school. 13 years and three kids later, I was promoted from Middle School. (They actually have graduation ceremonies from Middle School here!) I earned my Administration credential and was hired as an Assistant Principal. I am now an Assistant Principal at Montgomery High School in charge of all of the activities, clubs, athletics and student government. I am also the lead administrator for our math department. Working here at a high school, always makes me remember things that we did and I am constantly making comparisons. I have to say, in so many ways, "Lions are King". I feel like such a traitor when the students sing the Alma Mater here. I just can't bring myself to join in. You know - "Once a Lion, Always a Lion!"
In my spare time, I help coach my daughter's "National Championship" Cheer team. (I never really got over being competitive.) She and I also spend a lot of time at the "Happiest Place on Earth". We are both Disney fanatics and never get tired of going there. Maybe when I finally graduate from high school, I will get a job there.
My boys are out of school and working. My daughter is a 7th grader, in ASB, taking Algebra and being wonderful. The husband moved on.
I have been to Boise quite often lately. My mom is fighting the last battle with breast cancer. Once in a while, I run into people that I know. It is always good to remember.
Even though my school will be in session at Reunion time, I already have my ticket. I can't wait to see everyone! I also want to thank the planning committee in advance for all of their hard work. I know how much it takes to put on an event or two or three. See you all in August!
