Holly Sears McNeil

Good grief, I am not old enough to have a biography! All I've done in the last ten years is get married, have a couple of kids (to my physical detriment but unmitigated joy), teach private music lessons throughout, and, well, be a good housewife! Since this was exactly what I wanted to do, I can honestly say that I am rather pleased with the way I've spent my time. (The only exception being the number of children I have; had my body borne them better, or had I been willing to risk another child with autism, I might have tried for more. As it is, I confess that I am busy enough!) I like to cook--I like baking even better--and my strawberry jam and pickles are my claim to fame. (I'm ridiculous, am I not?) The thing I do best is clean, and I confess to genuine obsessive compulsive tendencies in that department. I try hard not to pass on the trait, but I think I am failing (if my son's insistence on a made bed and my daughter's constant drawing until her dragons are perfect are any clue). I recently went back to college for a degree in History, and found myself even more inclined to demand perfection on tests and assignments than I had previously...I ought to take Physics again to ruin my grade point average! I still love to sing, and like most of all that my voice finally matured enough to have a vibrato. I miss performing with Mistie and Rachel quite often, and the church choir can be absolutely disheartening in this small town. One of these days I'll have the time to join the local opera company and I'll be perfectly content. Until then, you can find me in my kids' classrooms, doing homework for college, in my backyard tending to my garden, or, if I'm really lucky that day, curled up on the couch reading the latest Terry Pratchett drivel. I could read something more worthwhile, and sometimes I do, yet I cannot help but want to laugh in my spare time.
