Today's Featured Biography
Steve Konkol
Hello Everyone. It’s great to get reunited, and it feels so good. Isn’t that an 80’s song? Anyway, I married Kati Werner in 1989, we’ll be celebrating 17 years in July. Yes, we’re still deeply in love. We have a 16 year old boy that is at Borah and a 14 year old girl that will be starting Borah next year.
After high school I went to Twin Falls and worked at Sizzler as an Assistant Manager. From their I went to Konkolville in north Idaho and managed the Konkolville Steakhouse and Lounge with Curtis Cluff under the employ of my uncle. Shortly thereafter Mark Owens followed us and got himself stuck after his car broke down. He bummed off us for a while and disappeared. Due to a lack of social life Curtis and I moved back to Boise within months. Don’t get me wrong, we had nothing against the loggers, red-necks and the combined population having fewer total teeth than the number of people. It’s just that when you’re 19 you kind of want to explore a broader part of the world.
Back in Boise my Mom, otherwise known as Mom, challenged me with something. She wanted me to go to a Christian conference of some sort in New Orleans. I wasn’t a Christian so it didn’t appeal to me. However, she said that she and my dad and some friends, otherwise know as Mom’s friends, wanted to pay for me to go with them. I would have to say that I really didn’t have the best motives in accepting the offer. I figured New Orleans was a party town and I would go check it out and have some fun. This was the brilliance of a 19 year old. Maybe you see where this is going. God was and still is smarter than me. He took hold of my life in New Orleans and I dedicated my life to serving Jesus Christ. What does that mean?
This is where life really began. But instead of me continuing with my life story in 6,000 words or less I would prefer to spend time seeing many of you at the reunion (or re-onion, I always confuse the two.) I’ll be the guy with the long hair wearing cut offs & tweed pullover handing out bible tracts, stop by and say Hi. (Just kidding…..I don’t want you to say Hi)
Hope to see you there. Especially you Kostka.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
