Today's Featured Biography
Diane Storhaug Howe
I met my future husband at South High School in Sept 1959.
After dating Don for three years, I married my high school sweetheart,Don Howe in Aug'62.
I joined him at Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. I received a degree in "Putting Hubby Through" as well as working at an insurance company in accounting.
Three years later during Don's senior finals week, our son Daniel was born.
We returned to Denver where Don went to grad school and began a career at Rocky Mountain Bank Note Compay, we bought a house near DU and our daughter Debra was born.
Fall 1975 we moved to Lakewood and spent 35 years there.
Owned a small business, attended various schools and basically stayed home when I chose to, went to school when I chose to, and worked when I chose to. Lived a charmed time. The kids survived childhood and we survived marriage.
The kids left, and I decided to go back to school. Graduated from DU and continued my life as an international accountant with engineering firms.
Enjoyed my life with husband, children and grandkids, work, family and friends.
May 2007 Don was diagosed with terminal, inoperable melanoma of the brain and died six months later with only a little impairment at the end. I was married to my high school sweetheart for 45 years.
Two years ago, I sold the house in Lakewood and moved in with my widowed mother (now 90+) who I had been taking care of for 13 years.
My son Daniel (wife Teri) has four daughters and four grandchildren, and commutes to Denver from Wyoming to do business as contractor, weekends playing cowboy at a ranch near the Nebr border.
My daughter Debra (husband Steven Scott Salley) has six sons and one daughter and two grandchildren, and excells as Trade Show mgr for a firm in Golden and
and displays her artistic side through her design and laser engraving business.
Both are diligent, creative and very talented. Love my kids and grandkids and don't know what I'm do without them.
I have spent the last two years doing research in preparation for teaching and writing a book.
