I went to SYVH for my senior year only, having been at Lompoc High until then. My mom moved us to Solvang where she opened a flower shop. It was great that SY had a small senior class and everyone was friendly and open to new people. My best friend was Sheryl McClure also a new senior transfer student from Santa Maria. I have been trying to find Sheryl for years but have not had any success. I traveled a lot after HS, as a civilian in VietNam and SE Asia and then with a band in Alaska, WA, OR, ID, NV, NM, AZ, and Canada. It was fun, but I finally settled down when my oldest had to start school. My home area while the band traveled was WA, then after my divorce I was in Memphis TN for a year before moving back to Buellton for a few months, where my son, Paul was born at Cottage Hosp. I then moved to San Diego for the next 7 years before moving back up to the great Pacific NW. I love the Seattle area and have been up here over 25 years now. I have 10 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters. I work for a great attorney, who is a philanthropist and all around wonderful guy. Thourgh my boss I meet Barack Obama when he was in Seattle campaigning and before that John Kerry. I love my job, and am lucky that my sister, Claudette class of 71 at SYVH moved up here in 1989 and my mom, ex & widow of Carl Birkholm, moved up in 1998. It is nice having family so near. I enjoy travel, especially to Mexico and I like live theater and the symphony. I have 1 old dog, a great guy named Dobby (the house dog). I used to work on Vashon Island in the Puget Sound, but our office has moved to downtown Seattle, where we are located in Pioneer Square. In November, my youngest child, Nicole passed away, she leaves a great husband and 5 children. Her death was natural, if it can be said a fairly healthy 36 year old dying is natural. She suffered from seizures and her poor body could not survive a grand mal she had when she was home alone (except for her napping 3 year old). I miss her greatly and so this is a tough time. I am still searching for Sheryl McClure if anyone hears from her, please pass on my e-mail. And, if you get up this way, to the beautiful Pacific NW, stop by and say "Hi". Sandra "Sam" Asher

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
