Darlene Garris Silvey
Well... I had moved to Denver during senior year but returned in September of 1988 pregnant with my son Ryan. I got married in 1989 to his father and we spent some more time back in the lower 48 before returning back to North Pole. Something about leaving Alaska, because again came back to Fairbanks pregnant with my daughter Bobbi. I stayed home with the kids until they were of preschool age. I got divorced in early 1995 so I had to hit the work force... I worked at Fairbanks Motors where I met the the most wonderful man, Don W. Parsons, we began dating and in time we combined homes & families. In August 1995 I had left the car dealership and moved over to the medical field. I got a job at the Eye Clinic of Fairbanks and worked there for 2 years then transferred to The Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic in August of 1997 where I started as Appointment Coordinator and worked my way up the ladder, in 2000 I became the Office Manager. I love my job, co-workers and Employers.
My daughter Bobbi will be starting her senior year at North Pole High School in the fall 2008, she has been active in sports in high school the way I wish I had been, my son Ryan played basketball and finished his senior year in 2007. I have a step son that graduated in 2005 from North Pole and he works at White Spruce Enterprises in North Pole and my son Ryan currently works as an Auto Tech at Fairbanks Imports. They all have experienced a touch of adult life in the real world with work, expenses, truck payments, snow machine, watercraft payments, etc.... but currently, the kids are all still living at home. They're great & I wouldn't trade them for the anything in the world. My daughter is working at Rainbows End Day Care, she wants to pursue her education with children... she's always been such a kid person. She has the patience and personality to make an awesome teacher one day. She will actually finish high school this December a semester early. Wish I had had her motivation and drive towards school.
Sorry I missed the 10year.... was here in Fairbanks, but was out of the loop.
I look forward to seeing all the familiar faces at the reunion.
