Has it been 20 years? I mean, really, aren’t we too young for that! I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and then returned to Wyoming for a master’s from the University of Wyoming. It was then off to Salt Lake City where I worked for a genetics start up, skied in the fabulous Utah powder, and hiked down south in the desert. In 1998, I made a big change in career and climate and moved to Seattle to go to law school at the University of Washington (too much school). Four years ago I joined the Attorney General’s Office in Olympia, Washington and am currently representing the state department of agriculture – a really entertaining assignment with a new crazy issue every day! My real job is Super-Auntie to my two nephews, Jackson, age 3 and Brandt, age 1, who live nearby in Tacoma (and one niece on the way in San Diego). I still do a lot of skiing, hiking, backpacking and every now and again, I let Donna (Bender) Portmann drag me off on a crazy hike up to the top of some mountain – beware if she invites you on a short walk in the woods!
