Today's Featured Biography
John McClure
It is so hard to grasp the fact that 38 years have passed since High School!
After graduation, I worked briefly for the WA Hwy dept, before going in the Navy after the death of my father in August. As a reservist, I was out in 2years, and after kicking around Oly working at the car wash, as a night watchman, and even trying door-to-door selling, I finally got a decent job working in Shelton at the Simpson plant. Went to college in Centrailia to get my grades up (the truth was obvious to me by now...) and eventually graduated BA in journalism & minored in anthropology. Worked in Tacoma as a reporter for a time, but eventually ended up back in Pullman and began my career in retail, selling Hi-Fi, (since I was by then a flaming audiophile). Managed a number of stores, finally got out of Hi-Fi in 1985 and began working in LIVE music, as a manager and sound man. I was fortunate enough to work with successful acts and was able to meet some of the "big" names in music.
In 1995, I was hired as manager of the then new Lark in the Morning Musique Shoppe in Seattle. After 7 years, the store is doing great and I have been promoted to Director of Retail Operations for the company's (so far) three stores! I have married the lady I must have been looking for all those years on my own. I am so blessed... I have a great job, incredibly fine artistic friends, and a lifestyle built around music and the arts.
I am a happy man.
