Today's Featured Biography
Roxie Crawford
LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL: Let's see.... well after high school my family moved back to Michigan, so I followed them there. For about two months until I got bored and missed all of my friends in Washington.
RELATIONSHIPS/FRIENDS/FAMILY: After a couple of rocky relationships, I finally met the perfect guy. His name is Marcus, and we've been dating for well over two years now. We have no kids, just animals. We own a condo in Marysville pretty close to his family. He's been with me through the hardest times of my life, including the loss off my best friend who was killed in a car wreck last year (WE LOVE AND MISS YOU JAKE). Words cannot even begin to describe how much Marcus means to me. I can't believe how lucky i am to have him in my life.
JOBS: I took a job as a caregiver for senior citizens at Washington Oakes Retirement (2000-2005) to pay my way through college (pre-law at the time). It was the best decision i ever made, because it helped me discover that I absolutely LOVED working with seniors. My major changed from pre-law to Marketing/Business (helathcare related). I ended up being promoted within the company, and within two years I was working as one of the Marketing Directors. I left the community 3 years back and started working as a Marketing Director for an Alzheimer's Community in South Everett. It is the most rewarding job on the planet (okay, so I exagerate a bit, but I'm biased ;). As a Marketing Director, I spend most of my time outside of the community developing business relationships with the purpose of referrals. Basically, I take people out to lunch a lot, bring hospital staff iced tea on hot days, plan and attend parties, and visit a lot of industry professionals who just so happen to be my best friends. Tough job, huh? Can you believe they actually pay people for this?
THE MOST REWARDING CAREER: Seriously though, My community helps both alzheimer's patients and family members by providing a wonderful, loving home with exceptional care. I'd do this job for free if they ask me. If you could see how many family members come through my office crying and leave happy because they know for the first time in a long time that their loved one is safe, you'd understand why. Last week, a resident who couldn't speak or move well looked up at me and smiled, and began petting the puppy in her lap. We were told this wasn't medically capable anymore, but she did it! Who says miracles don't happen? I LOVE THIS JOB!!! So much, that I also do a lot of volunteering with the Alzheimer's Association. My friends joke that working to find a cure is going to put me out of business. I just smile, shrug, and comment, "When that day comes, I'll retire with a huge smile on my face!"

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
