In 1982, after finishing my studies at the U, I took a job with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Dallas. Texas was great fun, but it was far too hot and humid for my taste, and I really missed being near the mountains and skiing. In 1986, I transferred to AA's Los Angeles office. It was great to be nearer to the mountains and also to the beach! A couple of years later, I took a job with one of my clients in the entertainment industry. In 1991, I heard that Francis Ford Coppola was looking for someone to oversee the finances of his organization, so I moved north to take the job in San Francisco.

In 1997 during the "dot com" heyday, a good friend (who eventually introduced me to my wife) and I co-founded an internet startup. After raising seed capital, then building and launching a website a week after the big market meltdown, we missed our window of opportunity and couldn't raise more funds to keep the startup going, so we shut down. Around this time, I spent a couple of months backpacking through Europe (an awesome experience that everyone should have at some point in their life). Shortly after returning, I met Amy and we married in 2001. I spent a few years doing independent corporate financial management consulting work, then landed my current job at CPP, a company that publishes psychological assessments and provides consulting services around their use.

In 2004, Francesca came along, and with the long hours and tedious commute from San Francisco to my offices on the peninsula, I was only seeing my daughter on weekends, so we moved to Mountain View in 2005. Up to that time, I had been a member of the tenor section (once a tenor, always a tenor!) of the San Francisco Choral Society, a large choral group that specialized in performing major classical works, for about ten years. I miss performing, but am certainly enjoying the family time instead. In July, 2007, our twins Clarissa and Julian arrived. We're having a great time in northern California - life is very good - and even though we get up to the Tahoe area several times each year, I still really miss being near the mountains.
