Jill Erickson Rose

Upon graduating in 1968 I went to work for Sperry Rand working on the assembly line makeing computer boards. In the summer of 1969 my friend (Nancy McCauley) and I drove to California for my first real vacation without my Mom and Dad. In September of that year Sperry had a lay off and I was without a job.

I started working at K-Mart in October as a cashier and eventually was placed over the stationery department. While working there I ran into George Edwards, who I had known since second grade. He was home on leave from the Air Force based in Las Vegas, Nevada. We were married in August of 1970 and I moved to Nevada.

I had three children, Steven Carl January 1972, Sara Colleen August 1976, and Eric J May 1980.

We lived in Las Vegas for 7 years, then his work moved us to Sparks,Nevada for 1 year and then again to Battle Mountain, Nevada for another 7 years.

While living in Battle Mountain I served on the Chamber of Commerce, was a member of Women In Mining where I was involved with the state politics concerning mining regulations, worked on the Tri county Fair Committee, and the 4th of July committee, as well as church callings. (I love small towns there is always something to do.)

I divorced in 1984 and moved back to Salt Lake. I worked for A&R Meats, 7-11 and US West. In 1986 I moved with my children to
Las Cruses, New Mexico for one year. I thought I needed the adventure.

1987 I decided I needed to come back to Salt Lake and I went to work at US West. I worked in directory assistance until 2001.

While at US West I met my husband Glen Rose and we were married in 1994.

I have 5 grandchildren, Hayden (1994), Rose (1996) Benjamin ( 2006), Riley (2007, and
Joseph (2007).

After leaving US West in 2001 I had several other jobs, worked as a teleconference operator, worked as a cilivian clerk at the Salt Lake Jail, and am now working for Salt Lake County Criminal Justice Services. I work with Salt Lake County Probation, Drug Court , Mental Health Court and Pre-Trial Services. I am loving every minute of it.

Had a great time seeing everyone at the reunion, keep in touch.

Received my reunion DVD on August 8, 2009 just one year after it took place, but it
was so nice to sit down and watch it all again.
It was better than I remembered.

I had lunch with Shannon Blunt and Judy Duggar last week and shared everything again.

On September 16, 2009 my husband, Glen suffered a heart attack and passed away. He was driving truck in Nevada at the time. It's been so strange to not have him with me, I'm still trying to sort things out and I miss him so much.

I need to thank all my friends for their support and kind words at this time. They mean more than you will ever know.

Well, it has been four years since I last enter4ed anything in this bio. I moved to Washington State for a few months and lived with my son and then moved back to Salt Lake City. I am working part-time with Salt Lake County Criminal Justice Services dealing with just the Mental Health Court.

My best friend from High School, Judy Duggar Deans, are now in the same Ward and run around just like we did in High School.

My daughter and her two children live with me and I help tend. Her oldest Rose is 17 now and Riley is 6 and just started Kindergarten.
