Joe & I married in 1966 and during the first five years of our marriage we both earned our Bachleors Degrees from ENMU in Portales, Joe earned a Masters Degree from Western Michigan University, we had two children, and Joe completed his last 1 1/2 years of active duty from the Army Reserve. Whew!! We stayed in the Midwest for ten years, living in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Manchester, Iowa, and Valparaiso, Indiana. It was great experience for us but we decided to move closer to our families in 1979. We have been in Roswell since that time -- and it's truly amazing to Joe & I that we ended up making Roswell our permanent home.
Our oldest, our daughter, Valerie, lives and works as a nurse in San Jose, California. She has blessed us with three grandchildren: Justin, 19 years old; Violet, 17 years old; and Carlos, 14 years old. Justin surprised us all this past year by moving back to NM and attending NMSU.
Our oldest son, Kelly, lives and works in Las Cruces as an office manager/estimator with Bekins. He has blessed us with one grandson,Erick, who is 16 years old, 6'5" tall, and a junior at Mayfield High School.
Our youngest, Donny, lives and works in Las Cruces as an ad designer and real estate magazine production editor. He and his wife, Gracey, have blessed us with two grandchildren, Domonic, 12 years old; and Azalea, who is now 5 years old and starting kindergarten this year. They are also expecting another baby (a little girl) who might be born around our reunion time.
I am in my 28th year with the Roswell schools, 25 years as a high school counselor. I'm thinking about retiring the end of this year. I'd like to go be a "nanny" to my youngest grandchildren while our daughter-in-law finishes her degree in bilingual education. We'll see! :)
I still enjoy reading and crocheting in my spare time, but I am very involved in several community and church activities. I volunteer once a month at the Historical Society Museum; I play the piano for Saturday night Mass at St. Peters; I'm an officer with Altrusa and an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma. I also enjoy camping, traveling, and swimming. Living with Joe all these years has taught me to appreciate the Great Outdoors so I also accompany him on hunting trips when I can.
Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Reunion.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
