Today's Featured Biography
Katherine Swofford Carroll
After East High, I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts at Mars Hill College, then a Master’s Degree at LSUNO (now the University of New Orleans). I lived in New Orleans for five years, during which I worked in various poorly paid capacities on several movies and TV shows that came there to shoot. I moved to Los Angeles to enter a unique training program in the film and TV industry (http://www.trainingplan.org/). For the next 25 years I worked in the production end of the industry. As an Assistant Director my professional name was Kate Tilley. Then as a Director I used the name Katherine Swofford Tilley. Later I became the administrator of the same training program that had given me a start, and by then I used the name Kate Tilley Carroll. The names aren’t important unless you’re using IMDB.
I have no children, but (through my husband Bill) I claim four grandchildren in Hawaii and Los Angeles. Bill and I live in a very rural area near Little Switzerland, NC and we also have a condo in downtown Asheville. We have many interests, including travel. My father, now 93, lives with us. We used to hire someone to stay with him when we traveled, but now we just take him with us because he enjoys it as much as we do.
I’d enjoy hearing from my classmates, and will attend the reunion if possible.
