Billie Brown Ayers
Hello Everyone,
Sorry I cannot make the reunion, I wish I could. So instead I’ll leave the highlights here and invite you to email anytime. I really enjoy reading everyone’s bios!
After graduation I worked at the County Treasurer’s Office in Miles City. Left in 1992 for Northwest Community College in Powell WY where I was talked into attending Fort Hays State University (FHSU) in Hays Kansas as a member of the livestock judging team. 1999 I graduated FHSU with a BFA in Graphic Design and a BA in Public Relations.
I work for the Dessin Fournir Companies, six luxury goods firms specializing in furniture, textiles, lighting and wallpaper for interior design professionals. We have showrooms in 15 cities throughout the US, Canada, and Russia with offices in New York, Chicago, L.A. and Plainville, KS. I was initially hired as a graphic designer then I became the web developer. While working on the web sites, I began securing editorial features about the companies. In 2002 I replaced our companies’ New York PR firm and now I oversee public relations and advertising full-time. In addition to the Dessin Fournir Companies, I represent a flower & gift shop, restaurant & microbrewery and downtown Hays.
I live in Plainville KS with my husband Craig. A native Kansan, he is a salesman for John Deere and a true sports aficionado, particularly baseball. For fun, we travel to a wide range of sporting events. We renovated an old house, built a couple of barns and have become the retreat for lost animals. We have four horses, eight cats, one dog and a variety of visiting wildlife including 40 wild turkeys. Since we have no children, we donate our time to community activities, the local saddle club and rodeo.
I miss Montana and Miles City dearly. When traveling, I’m constantly scanning faces hoping to see someone from home. Thanks to everyone who is making the reunion a success. If you find yourself surfing the white lines of Interstate 70 going through Hays KS, give us a call!
