wow...lots-o-room...get yerselfs' a strong cuppa or a glass of red...
==>still playing music and singing, never stopped...main music this phase is irish session music, and we have a very active session here in helena sept-june for the past 6 plus years!
==>VERY happy in helena with doug and our great community of friends and activities both in our little town and throughout the wider northwest area
==>computer geek these dayz...doing geographic information systems (GIS) for our water resources here in the state...great group of folks to work with
==>went back to school in 1984 at MSU, range science/hydrology emphasis BS in 1988, went to las cruces new mexico for grad school at NMSU, range science/emphasis range animal behavior relative to weather MS 1990, continued and got the piled higher and deeper,,,or was it postponement of human development?...grin...range science/minor experimental spatial statistics emphasis in vegetation communities Ph.D. 1995, post-doctoral work with NMSU, then over to white sands missile range to do environmental science and gis...then up to montana again to work with my current position with the state.
==>par osteo osteal sarcoma in distal right femur diagnosed dec 1995, and very slow growing beastie, so had surgury for treatment,,,,removal of lower femur with metal replacement bone, then recurrence in 1999, weird amputation-reattachment called van ness rotationplasty. look it up on the web...or i can tell you in august...i have a prosthesis and am still using a cane, tho i expect to discontinue that for general purposes in the next couple years...gotta grow some bone...i am doing great, mt biking, hiking, haven't run a step since january 1996, so i have to be ready to get out of the way in advance...or not get in those situations. shall i just say that i am the ideal backpaking partner in grizzly country?
==>parents still living in bozeman...get over there fairly often, they are going strong!
==>met a wonderful string of folks along the path to today as i write this...whitefish, mt was my first home away from home, then condon, mt, back to the 'fish' then to bozeman, helena, livingston, las cruces, nm, and back to helena...
==>no children, no dogs, a horse or two in the distant past, and a limited number of cats throughout..one lovely 'sylvester' colored gal, arwen, was with us/me/us/me/us for over 23 years!!! she moved on to her 10th life in 1999. the missoula pound has great hybrid vigor kittens...and we have recently been adopted by a wild cat at our home here on the edge of mt helena city park...so once again, we are 'staff' for java the cat
=====>>>never made it to any reunions before this one, and hope to make it! looking forward to seeing all of us in our fine forties!!!!
