Today's Featured Biography
Barbara Bonstrom Parks
Max and I attended Penn Junior High, Lincoln, Normandale Jr College and received our Bachelors Degrees at Bemidji State University(class of 1974). I attended graduate school at Drake University, in late 90's.
Max graduated in 1969. He and I did not meet until 1972. Max has been employed with John Deere for 37 years.
I taught school in Apple Valley, Minnesota and then moved into corporate career with Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc, Des Moines, Iowa. Max and I transferred with John Deere to Reno, Nevada in year 2000. I changed careers at that time as a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley, Waddell and Reed and most currently, New York Life.
Since our move to Illinois, I am considering retiring. Max and I moved to Oak Run/Spoon Lake. We chose a lake/golf course so that our children would come visit us from Des Moines Iowa. We have three children, three in law children and seven grandchildren.
Max probably knows more of my classmates than I do. He was in choir and also in theatre. I quietly participated in Y-Teens and French Club. We have been on the facebook page: flashbacks in "Bloomington, MN and surrounding areas" and it has actually kept us up late looking a photos and reading stories submitted by kids who attended Lincoln and Jefferson during the population explosion years living in Bloomington, MN. There are pictures and stories of Lincoln High School, the famous mosaic bears on the floor in the foyer & the hallways when the school closed in 1982.
We will see you at the reunion on April 30th.
