A friend recently told me that this internet thing is great prior to the reunion so you can share the life details now and not worry about it when you see each other. I thought that made sense...fewer surprises after 10 or 20 years!
After high school I attended KU, graduating with a Human Deveolopment and Family Living degree in 1992. I worked for a national study of early child care from 1992-2000 then returned to KU for a nursing degree. Now I have a job that can support my family if I ever have to. But I'd rather stay home. I am a mother of 3. My husband and I were expecting our first at the last reunion. She turned out to be a girl! Peter was born almost 4 years later. I managed to squeeze nursing school in between Addie's 2nd birthday and Peter's birth. I work at the community hospital both in the Medical unit and in Community Education teaching Childbirth, Breastfeeding and Baby Care classes. The teaching is my passion. Neva came as a surprise in 2006. Best surprise I've had. I love my kids like crazy and spend most of my time with them. I only work as an RN about 16 hrs a week. I had always hoped to share motherhood with my mom, but she died of breast cancer about a month after Addie was born. My dad is in Russell, married to Lana. We enjoy getting back to Russell to see them. I'm very excited to see everyone at the dinner and lake. Bring your kids! That's going to be the most fun part.
