Hard to believe it’s been more than 20 years since high school, even though it seems a lifetime ago.
Although I dated Matt in high school and through college, we weren’t married until 1991. After graduating from FHSU with a degree in Business Administration, I worked in the banking and manufactured housing industry until we moved to Great Bend in 1993 and I joined the newspaper (Accountant) there. In 1998, I was transferred from Great Bend to Statesboro, GA—NW of Savannah (Group Controller) for 2 years, and then transferred to Ellsworth, KS (Publisher) for about 18 months. Then I was transferred back to Great Bend (Regional Controller) until 2004 when I was transferred to Gainesville, GA—NE of Atlanta (Regional Controller). By 2006 with two children Marissa (1995) and Josh (2002) and after having lived in metro Atlanta for 2 years we decided we had enough of the “city” life, besides I wouldn’t consider what the schools “taught” education—at least not the things we wanted our kids to learn. So Matt sold his business and I quit my job and we moved to Paradise, KS unemployed. Fortunately we had a weekend home we could crash at until we decided what we wanted to do. Matt took a job with the Kansas Department of Commerce and we ended up buying a home in Great Bend, again. Shortly after returning I was offered the Publisher’s position at the newspaper and so I decided to rejoin the media group I had left only a few months before.
Our free time is now consumed with a multitude of children’s activities, volunteering, and frequent visits to Paradise for hiking, fishing, hunting & canoeing, although it’s not unusual to catch me reading a good book. We still make it to Russell for church a dozen or so times a year, spend a lot of money at Yost’s, replenish our Paradise supplies from Klema’s and enjoy catching up with schoolmates when passing through.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
