Carol Hill Weshinskey

I graduated from Illinois State University in 1969 with a degree in business education. I began teaching at Cahokia High School in the fall of 1969 where I met my husband. He taught P.E. and coached basketball and track. I quit teaching to become a stay-at-home mom when our first daughter was born. We moved to Belleville, Illinois when Lisa was five months old because Gary took a teaching and coaching job at Belleville West High School where he taught and coached basketball, track and cross country until he retired in 1998. He continued to coach cross country and track until a few years ago. He is currently a volunteer track coach at Belleville West.

I went back to work when Lisa was in college and Laura was in high school. I worked for the St. Clair County Health Department as a secretary in the Environmental Health Division until I retired in 2002.

Both of our daughters became teachers. Lisa taught second grade for 6 years, but then took a break for 6 years to be a stay-at-home mom. She is currently a reading teacher. She has 2 children and 2 step children. Her husband is in marketing. Laura has two sons and one daughter. She taught high school math and physics, and junior high science for 6 years. After being a stay at home mom for 5 years she has now gone back to teaching highschool math. She is married to a chiropracter. Both of our dauhters live less than an hour away so we see our daughters and their families often. I love every minute I get to spend with the grandkids! My step children also live close. I have 5 grandchildren and 8 step grandchildren-the oldest is 32 and the youngest was born in June 2008. Our first great grandchild was born in June 2015.

Our children and grandchildren keep us very busy. We also are very involved in the church where we have been members for 32 years. Currently we both sing in the choir and play in the bell choir.
