Jenea Barnett Ivey

Wow!!! Twenty years....I can't believe it. We're not really that old are we? Well, I guess if it's true we all deserve to get together again and have some fun!!

My history since high school...hmmmmm. Let's see...directly after high school I could not wait to get out of McCall. Even though we grew up here, I was definitely tired of this small, nothing going on, mountain town. Ahhhh, but before I could make it out, here comes the man of my dreams (or so he tells me :o). Together, we then moved to Moscow, Idaho where he attended the University of Idaho. I had not yet decided at that time if college was for me, so I worked at various jobs trying to find something I really enjoyed.

From Moscow, my husband and I acted like typical, young adults looking for as much adventure as we could find. We lived in several cities around the west coast and eventually decided to come back to Idaho. We purchased a home in Eagle and discovered we were expecting our first child. During all these years, both of us always seemed to have a very strong entrepreneurial spirit. It seems that the combination of freedom and making a nice living are so very hard to make happen, but we became very determined. We tried many different businesses....from contracting, to carpet cleaning, to a candle and gift business. During these years of hard work, we also became heavily involved in the real estate investment business.

Since Dave, my husband, had studied and been very interested in real estate for a very long time, we took it upon ourselves to use this knowledge and start buying and selling properties. We started with smaller homes and going through the "school of hard knocks" (and lots of headaches), we have graduated into somewhat large properties. From sheer determination, drive and the will to never give up we are now able to start realizing some of our dreams. We've been very fortunate to be able to spend large amounts of quality time with our children and make a nice living too.

Now, don't ask me how this happened, but we ended up moving back to McCall. It was supposed to be a short stay (a few months at most) and here we are 10 years later. Now, we are a family of five, with three girls (Kayla-13, Sara-9, Ashlyn-2) that I love more than anything in the world. In fact, I will always consider my family to be my most valuable accomplishment and the one I am most proud of. Kayla and Sara are very involved in Figure Skating, Dance, Volleyball and of course, friends! Our littlest daughter, Ashlyn, just started figure skating a couple of months ago and she and I also attend a "Mommy & Me" Gymnastics class together. Our girls keep us very busy, but we love every minute of it. My husband and I are very family oriented and love to volunteer at the schools and also help out with many of the activities our girls are involved in.

Now that I am an adult with a family, I realize that McCall has much to offer. In the summer we do a lot of camping, fishing, hiking etc. and in winter we all love to ski! Just so we don't get too wrapped up in the small town life, we take a lot of trips elsewhere. It seems, to Dave's dismay, that shopping trips are always on the agenda. I mean, with me and three girls, what do you expect?

I'm really looking forward to our reunion and catching up with everyone. It has been a long time since I have seen most of my classmates, as I wasn't able to attend our 10 year reunion. I sure hope that everyone can make it!
