Today's Featured Biography

Blaine Esplin

It took me nine years to finally finish a 4-year degree in Business Information Systems at Utah State University in Logan. Shortly thereafter was the 10-year reunion. At that time we drove to Blackfoot from the Seattle area where I was working. My wife was pregnant with our first child, Amanda.

We moved back to Utah in the summer of 1999 and we have been in our home since 2000. I worked for several years at Ancestry.com in Provo, during the internet bubble and beyond. I have worked for Oakley Networks for a couple of years. We were purchased in the fall of 2007 by a little company of 70,000 employees called Raytheon. I do computer programming specializing in quality assurance automation systems. Basically I write code to automate testing of production code and find the bugs before they go out.

On the home front: As our daughter, Amanda got older we pursued domestic adoption for some time with no results. We started our international adoption journey in January 2005 and went through many ups and downs including governmental changes and dishonest agencies and foreign individuals.

Finally, in June and July 2007, we were able to travel to Western Ukraine (near Hungary and Poland) where we met and adopted Joseph (7 at the time) and Matthew (almost 3 at the time). Amanda came with us and we had a life-changing experience as we spent six weeks in Ukraine. We have so much in this country, we are so blessed!

Life is settling in with the five of us now. We just celebrated one year of being home and together as a family! There are still many medical issues and emotional challenges with the boys, but I wouldn't have it any other way. We have been so blessed and know they are the boys that belong in our family. There are many mighty miracles that brought them to our family.

This website has been a great way to catch up before the reunion. I think we'll just make a day trip to Idaho, we'll only be there for the picnic and the tour of the school.
