Today's Featured Biography
James Glover
Holy cow! It seems like yesterday I was waking up to one of those 30 degree North Florida mornings and driving my 83' Ford Escort to school. I was a lean 6'0 160 pounds. Now 20 years and 70 pounds later (regretfully, not all the added poundage is due to weightlifting), I stumble out of bed with the aches and pains of an old man.
After RHS, I played Baseball at Itawamba Community College in Mississippi. Running out of money forced me back with mom and dad who moved to Stuart, FL. I continued taking classes here and there while working and setting out on my own. Moved to West Palm Beach and lived there for 10 years. In 1996, at the age of 25, I was selected as a free agent to play Baseball by the Massachusets Mad Dogs of the newly formed North Atlantic Independent League (now defunct). I met my beautiful wife Jeannine and we married in 1998.
I took a job with Pratt and Whitney Space Propulsion in 1998. It was the job of a lifetime until they decided to eliminate thousands of people. My job of a lifetime lasted two years.
I landed a job with the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office in 2000. Spent a couple of years with the dregs of society at the county jail, then hit the mean streets of Ft. Pierce as a Road Patrol Deputy. I loved it from the start. I have since transferred to the School Resource Unit in a Middle School. I am also a member of the Gang Task Force. I have two incredible children, four year old Amber, and six month old Austin (A.J. if he is any good at Baseball). Jeannine is an elementary school teacher.
I currently live in a modest pool home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. My life has been pretty normal, alot of ups and alot of downs. Call it a push. I can't complain however. I do regret not getting more out of my RHS experience. I really did not keep in touch with anyone so send me an e-mail and let me know how you are doing.
