After graduating nursing school in 1983 I worked at Bay Medical Center for three years in MICU before moving to Wilmington, NC. I married in 1991 and had two daughters with my first husband. I worked full time as a nurse in home health until 2005 when I returned to clinical research at PPD. I divorced in 2006 and two years later met my husband, Joe. He was active duty in the Marine Corp and we managed to keep a long distance relationship alive until we moved to Stafford, VA and blended our families and started our mini version of the Brady Bunch. Joe has two sons, CJ and Cole. We married in 2011 and I returned to school for BA in Project Management and MA in Global Organizational Management. Over the next several years our kids all graduated from high school and went to college. Now the boys are both married. CJ is a firefighter/paramedic and his wife, Taelor is a school teacher. Cole is serving in the Army and married to Kami who is also a teacher. Alyssa is nurse at Duke and in FNP school and is engaged to her partner Morgan who is in sales. Abby is in Florida at Embry Riddle for grad school in human factors. Joe retired 8 years ago from the USMC and works as a project director for military training contracts. I am vice president of clinical development and therapeutic head of cardiovascular, endocrinology and rare disease at Syneos Health. We moved to King George, VA in 2017 to live on the Potomac River with our two fur babies, Tawny and Tiger. When we are not in a pandemic, we travel all around the world for work and for fun.
