Shari Clendenen Gillette

I've been an Account Administrator in Aviation Dept. at Lockton Companies (Insurance Agency) for 20 years.

I'm a Scottish Highland Dance teacher & still dance with the City of Denver Pipe Band, now the Denver & District Pipe Band (42 years now). I'm also the Dance Coordinator of the Rocky Mountain Highland Dancers. Among many performances in my career, I've performed (along with my pipe band & my husband's pipe band) at Stirling Castle in Scotland (think William Wallace in "Braveheart") & marched in the "2000 Millennium March" through the streets of Edinburgh, along with nearly 10,000 pipers & drummers (& 15 other highland dancers, including my daughters -- all from Colorado).

I've been a Girl Scout Brownie Leader; a Cub Scout Den Leader & Boy Scout Scoutmaster, & have held many other leadership positions in Boy Scouts. I've also been quite involved with David Taylor Dance Theatre & Littleton Dance Academy for many years.

I've been married 37 years to Neil, an instrumental strings teacher & also a bagpipe instructor; he's the founder of the Colorado Youth Pipe Band.

We have 4 kids:

Sarah (35) is currently working on her PhD dissertion at Western Michigan University. She's married to Ben, who is finishing up his PdD in Chicago. She's also a champion Highland Dancer & teacher, as well as a fine ballet dancer. While a student at CCHS, before graduating in 1997, she was active in Theater & was in Girls 21 & Meistersingers.

Andrew (33) is a funeral director for All States Cremation & is married & the father of Phoebe, who's 7 years old. He is also a gifted artist, & in his spare time enjoys running & competing in events such as the Tough Mudders. He graduated CCHS in 1999.

Kevin (27) is a computer geek who is gradually working his way through college in his spare time. He graduated CCHS in 2004.

Hannah (almost 17) is a student at CCHS, & is also a champion Highland dancer & is gifted in ballet, tap, jazz & you name it - she can dance it! She is currently very active in Girls 21.

I'm a member of St. Gabriel the Archangel Episcopal Church in Cherry Hills, where I love singing in the choir!

Hobbies, other than dancing & attending everything my kids & husband are involved in, are watching old movies, especially musicals, reading & sewing, & supporting all of my kids, nieces & nephew, cousins, friends & children of friends etc. at all of their sporting events, musicals, dance & singing performances, & whatever else they might be involved in!
