Today's Featured Biography
Celia Summers Moore
In August, 1961,I completed courses at the U of A for a BSE Degree in Elementary Education, and began teaching First Grade in El Dorado in September of that year. For the following three years, I taught Second Grade in El Dorado, transferring to Spring Branch ISD, Houston, Texas in the fall of 1965. Jonathan and I were married in June,1966. I taught in Spring Branch three and a half years before moving to Corpus Christi,Texas. In Corpus, I taught pre-school classes at St. James Episcopal School, while our children attended school there. Then we moved to Marshall,Texas. Jonathan and I were divorced in July,1994. I continued teaching in Marshall schools until retirement in May, 2002.
Jonathan and I have two daughters,Elizabeth, and Catherine, and one son, Jonathan, Jr. (Jon). All three children are married and have children.
After retirement, I stay busy substituting in Marshall's Middle School,volunteering at the Historical Museum here, and working with my church on community projects. I enjoy reading, shopping for antiques with friends, and decorating my 1940's house. I also love spending time with our six grandchildren-Nick(20), Berkeley(14), Alex(7), Gillian(5), Ian(3), and Aiden(2).
It has been exciting talking with many of you on the phone as we've prepared for our Reunion. I look forward to seeing all of you at our fabulous 50th celebration in October!
