Today's Featured Biography
Jacqueline West Wilson
It was great seeing so many former classmates at the recent Alumni game and After Party, who I haven’t seen in many, many, years. It’s times like this that I really miss Milwaukee. I’ve attended the 20-year and 25-year reunions. Mike was in Saudi Arabia for the 20-year reunion, but came to the 25-year. So, he and I look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion in August!
So let me bring you up to date on my life. After graduating from North at 16 (I was only in high school for 3 years), I went to UW-Milwaukee...where I wasn’t a serious student at all! Some how I managed to take a class or two every semester and eventually hit the magic 120 number. I earned a B.A. in 1983. After college I moved to Detroit, then to Ft Worth (Texas), where I joined the Air Force. I spent 9 years in the Air Force and while stationed in Hawaii for over 6 years, I earned a MBA in Accounting. While in Hawaii I unexpectedly ran into at least 3 people from Milwaukee…one of which was the former Evaughn Brown.
My husband (now retired Army) and I transferred to this area in the Fall of 1993 and have been here ever since. I never thought in a million years I would be living in DC! It was never part of my plan. After getting out of the military we planned on leaving…but, as our careers grew we ended up staying. I’ve worked in auditing for the Federal government for nearly 12. Living in a tri-state has many amenities such as career opportunities, theatres, museums, historic sites, concerts, etc., so that’s made it tough to leave. Literally, within 5 minutes from our home we can drive to DC or Virginia.
Now for the reason I have so much gray hair! My daughter Kamaria (drama queen #1) graduates cum Laude with a B.S. in Mass Communication, on May 19th…Yeah! She’ll attend graduate school this Fall. Needless to say, I’m very proud of Kamaria. Our beloved 11-year old son Jared, unlike his sister could care less about academics. So Mike and my free time is spent ensuring his assignments are done and making him study. He doesn’t appreciate our efforts now, but maybe one day he will. My niece Jocelyn (from Milwaukee) also has lived with us for the past 3 years. She’s a junior at a local HBCU. I also have a 16–year old God daughter, Safari (drama queen #2) who is very big part of our family. She’s an aspiring, multi-talented, entertainer that sings, dances, is an accomplished pianist and violinist, and is an excellent student. We love them dearly, but can’t wait to be empty nesters…sooner than later!
We’ve also been blessed to travel throughout the US and abroad, for both business and pleasure. I’ve always wanted my children to see the world, so it’s been great giving them opportunity to travel abroad. Our prayer is to take Jared to Asia as his high school graduation gift.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
