Stephanie Scott Aakre

I am a mother and wife and a recent college graduate! After having a child together for two years, my current husband and I got married. He is a MT man from Conrad, MT. I met him through Kelly Brezinski when she went to WSU her Freshman year. They lived in the same dorm and shared mutual friends. I will be forever grateful to her for that introduction! He majored in Genetics and Cell Biology and is in Research and Development at Sacred Heart. Our daughter, now 4 years old is our pride and joy. After she was born, I went back to school and struggled with being a mommy and going to school. After four years of being an on and off again student, I finally finished my degree. I earned a BA in Business Admin-Management Operations in Dec of 2007 from WSU. I work for a global fertilizer company in the PNW sales office with three other men from the "old boy's club". It is challenging at times to try and change their old ways but rewarding as well as I have developed very good relationships with my co-workers and boss and they listen to my ideas.

After high school I played soccer for the Community Colleges of Spokane where we placed second in regional championships. I moved to Portland in 2001 and attended Portland Community College where I earned my AS degree. In 2003 I moved back to Spokane to be with my husband who landed his first career job out of college at Sacred Heart. My motive to move back to Spokane was also due to the fact that we were expecting a child and I hadn't started a real career yet. In 2005 I ran the Portland marathon and have committed to the 2008 Portland marathon as well. Unfortunately it is Oct. 5th so I will not be attending the reunion.

Currently, we are looking into adopting a dog to build our family. We chose the dog route instead of the second child route! In 2003 we bought a brand new house on the South Hill and I love the South side of town though we would like to live in a smaller community. My husband and I have no family left in Spokane so we are always traveling to MT and Western WA and OR.

I will be going back to school for my masters in either International Business or Entrepreneurship. I'm fascinated by International Business and see it as the future in Business but I also have a goal to own my own business within 10 years. I had to get myself through college so I need that long to pay off student loans! For now, we are enjoying being a family. I still play soccer and snowboard every chance I get. As a family we enjoy camping, fishing, golf and bowling.

I hope to connect with some of NC 98' Alumni over a cup of coffee or a cold glass of beer since I will not be at the reunion! Look me up!
