Today's Featured Biography
Nanette Rasband Theobald
I am currently working at Provo High School. Who would have thought? I would have NEVER dreamed or desired to go back, even though I had a great experience at PHS. But when I was finishing my Master's Degree five and one-half years ago. It was suggested that I do my internship at a high school out of our district (NEBO). I had taught Special Education (Reading and Math) at Payson Middle School for 15 years. I also was head coach for Payson High School's Girls soccer team for 12 years. One of my greatest 'soccer' memories is beating Provo High several times(Coach Cardoza has a great program) and beating Timpview at their home. I also coached the Payson High Boys one year as an assistant. Yes, they were desperate! I had a great experience coaching and who would have thought?
After graduation I attended BYU and graduated in Communication Habilitation. I married Evan Theobald from La Canada, California. I taught school for Alpine School District as a resource teacher for two year as my husband was completing his Pharmacy degree at the U of U. After his graduation we moved to Las Vegas and lived there for five years. We returned home to live Payson in 1980 and have lived there since.
We have five children: Brady, Anesthetist at Mt. View Hospital, Tyler, Finance and Real Estate, Tara, Pharmacy Tech and Dance Teacher, Shane Anesthetist, Vernal, Utah, and Becky, Stay at home mom. We have 10 grandsons and 3 granddaughters.
We have been busy working in our church in scouting, young women's groups, and where ever else they send us. We love the outdoors. This interest led us to build a Cabin in Scofield, Utah which we just finished. This was a three year venture and has created a home away from home.
It is still strange to be back at PHS. Every time I walk the hall I am reminded of my past there and the great times we have had. In the past five years we have had two back to back Basketball State Championships. I continue to be impressed with the great educators and programs at PHS.
I look forward to seeing you in August. Can you believe it has been 40 years?
