Today's Featured Biography
James Keffer
Upon graduating from the Univ of Utah in June of 1974, I received a Regular Commission in thein the USMC where I earn my Aviator's wings and flew jets.
After my active duty service, I married my High School Sweetheart, Ms Beverly Barta and entered Graduate School where I earned my Master's Degree. We are proud to have raised two fine sons!
I've worked for several companies including Northrup Advanced Systems Division, M&M Mars' petfood division, Information Resources Inc. (business intelligence software) and finished my business with 10+ years at Oracle Corporation as a Principle Consultant. Retired at 55 and have been enjoying traveling with my wife of 40 years (come April 11, 2021).
I've travel to more than 30 Countries, lived in two, not counting Mexico or Canada. I've visited all 50 states at least twice, lived in 8 different States and visited four Canadian provinces and two Mexican States.
Our latest trips (since 2018) include visits to Belize, Peru (including Machu Picchu and the Amazon), and Central Europe (Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Austria).
We also made a 2 month trip from Sammamish, WA to Key West, Florida with our RV Trailer.
All told, in just the last 3 years we've visited 25 state and two Canadian Provinces. And we plan a lot more traveling in the Future!
To give back to our community I an the webmaster for a hobby website for 800+ 'flintknappers' and I host a number of primitive and traditional skills events at my shop in Sammamish for people of all ages. I also am a frequent lecturer and demonstator of 'flintknapping' (paleo-lithics or stone tools) at a number of private and public schools.
