I met my husband Mike at South Houston High School. We attended Sam Houston State University and got married as sophomores. We then attended Texas A&M University for graduate school. We lived in the College Station area for 7 years. Our daughter Alicia was born in Bryan in 1978. We moved to Houston and our son John was born in Houston in 1986. Mike's job moved us from Houston to the San Francisco area, then to Phoenix and then to Maryland. We chose to move back to Phoenix and now live in Glendale, Arizona. I have taught school for most of my career. I started teaching junior high school, then high school, and finally college. I currently teach Biology at Glendale Community College. Mike is with Hewlett Packard. His title is Americas Network Delivery Leader. Our daughter Alicia is an attorney here in Phoenix. Our son John is a manager employed with Trader Joe's. We have been blessed to be married 43 years. We attend Christ's Church of the Valley. We enjoy recreational gold prospecting, hiking, bird watching, and traveling. We also enjoy spending time with our two dogs, Anna and Roddy (chihuahuas).
Mike and I are now retired. I was diagnosed with ALS in May 2014. Mike is my full time caregiver. We are blessed to have a wonderful support group of friends and family.
