Today's Featured Biography
Eric Martello
Born in Chicago, IL November 29th, 1966. Moved to Texas in 1970 as father worked for American Airlines. Graduated Bell High School May of 1985. Attended TCJC Hurst TX and UT Arlington in the late 80s, before taking a 3 yr leave from college to make money for school. In 1991, I moved on to Texas A&M University (WHOOOP!/Gig em'!) and graduated with a BS in Meteorology in August of 1993. I met my wife Laura Cunningham (class of 95'/origionally from Denver, CO) there as well. Laura and I were married on her graduation day May 13, 1995 (after sitting through a 4 hour morning graduation ceremony hung over!).
Started my NWS(weather service) career as an intern in Deep South Texas (Lower Rio Grande Valley in Brownsville May 94'-April 96'), moved to Goodland, KS as a general forecaster (96'-98'), then to Spokane, WA (98'-99'), then promoted to senior forecaster in Jackson, MS (99'-02'), then moved back home as a senior forecaster in Fort Worth (June 2002-present).
Pushing 41 now (aren't we all) with all my hair still intact (thank god baldness isn't a genetic problem in my family). Two great kids (Aimee now 71/2 and Brice now 41/2) and love them to death, but not ready for them to be bringing dates home to mom/dad yet! Both very active in school, sports, church, and dance.
I wasn't married until I was 28, so to see some folks I went to school with having grandkids already just blows my mind, but it's cool, as we all take different paths in life.
Still hang with some of my old, closest Bell High friends at times. Shiftwork keeps me busy, but hope to be in management soon, though I may have to move(again) to get a "day job". When I'm not working or spending time with my family, I love crappie/bass fishing, camping, and occasionally playing softball.
