From previous personal entry:
Currently I am working as a Library Media Specialist at Duluth High School, a Gwinnett County Public School of approximately 2400 students. Since moving from Texas to Georgia in 1967, I have raised two boys while married for 28 years, divorced in 1995, earned my Doctorate in Library Media Technology, and worked as a school librarian and broadcast journalism teacher. Fall of 2008, I started teaching part time at Georgia State University in Atlanta, teaching others to become library media specialists.
Though I was a stay-at-home mom for many years, I authored a book on Madame Alexander Cloth Dolls - Alexander's Rag Line - in 1982 and have written numerous articles on doll collecting and antique dolls. Along with serving on the national board of the Alexander Doll Club for seven years, I have chaired two national conventions, chaired the competitive exhibit at the annual national convention, and conducted workshops and seminars throughout the country. Doll collecting has become my second life alongside books and library work.
I am now a grandmother of one beautiful grandson, Levi, born on September 28, 2009 - the day before my birthday. What a magnificent birthday gift from my oldest son and his adorable wife! He already has his grandma in the palm of his hand. He calls me GaGa - no relationship to the Lady!
The fall of 2009 was a remarkable time for me - with the birth of my grandson and then a fascinating trip to China as a citizen ambassador through the People-to-People organization. The International Reading Association took 39 educators to Beijing, Xi'an and Shanghai for two weeks to observe the Chinese education system and soak in the culture of those three glorious cities. Walking on the Great Wall and seeing the Terra Cotta Soldiers were two highlights of the trip. A truly incredible experience that has enriched my teaching and my life!
In addition, I attended a teacher institute at the Library of Congress in June of this year focusing on the Teaching of Primary Sources. Wow - what a remarkable website and collection of educational materials. If you have not visited either, they are a must for any American. The exhibitions in the Jefferson Building are extraordinary and are all on-line - of particular note is the re-creation of the original Jefferson Library collection funded by Texans, Gene and Jerry Jones. A blessing to us book lovers!
June fo the Year 2014, I will be retiring from the Gwinnett County School System to find my next career. I am not ready to quit working and stay in the house all day. What avenue I will find only God knows - but I am looking forward to the new experience!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
