Hello everybody,
I am hoping to be able to attend the reunion activities and see everyone, but I will not know until Thursday.
I’ve had a really great life since Memorial, but instead of filling this space with a bunch of resume stuff, I’ll just let you know that, YES, I DID GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE.
University of Houston 1969.
I’ve been extremely lucky to have had a career that combined my two loves of sports and entertainment. I’ve been in broadcasting for over 40 years. I have spent the last 38 seasons televising NBA Basketball, which includes 27 years of running the television facility in the Summit/Compaq Center. How much fun was that? I can’t begin to tell you.
Rock concerts??? God, the stories I could tell you over drinks.
Another reason that I never grew up.
Like all good things, this job to came to an end a few years ago after the Harvard MBA’s took over the company. Now I’m just another laid-off senior.
I’ve been working as a freelance engineer on TV mobile units for the past 4 years. I work with young kids that make me not only feel like a dinosaur, but look like one too.
I’m on hold to work the NBA Playoffs for both the San Antonio Spurs and the Houston Rockets. If it turns out that I don’t end up working on the 24th and 25th, I’ll be hobbling around at the reunion and will probably remember each of you, although I’m now hopelessly senile.
