Hi everyone:

I have been meaning to post this for several weeks now --- but have been having a blast reading all of your stories. It’s like getting a head start on the reunion.

After Hixson, I graduated from UTC with a BA in English Literature and then moved to Cincinnati to go to law school. I married a dude I met in law school, but we divorced after a year when we recognized that we had radically different life goals and we parted peacefully.

After realizing (two and a half years into the torture!!) that law was stone cold boring me, I took a job as Public Relations Director for a local hospital system. An ironic position for someone who was so painfully shy that I bet many of you don’t remember me. I also worked part time as a mystery shopper and even published a book, The Mystery Shopper’s Guidebook, to teach others how to become mystery shoppers.

To add to the craziness, I started dating a British chap and we began traveling to Europe regularly. From this, I grew London Calling, an antique jewelry and furniture importing firm – which I ran successfully for four years.

However, when I was downsized from my “day job”, I decided to quit the capital intensive import business and take a few years off to pursue my growing passion for travel. I was blessed enough to visit many incredible places including Greece, Bali, Thailand, Europe, Costa Rica, Bermuda, Hawaii and many islands.

Broke and needing respite, I returned to Cincy and hung a shingle as a public relations and marketing consultant for physician practices. However, as per usual in my life, my passion took over and motivated me to market my services to the spas and luxury resorts I became enamored with during my travels.

Soon my company, Ruby Slippers Marketing, was representing only spas and a few fashion companies. One of my client’s designs can be seen on TV shows including Top Model!!

Recently, a Swiss firm, Antanais, bought my company and I now work for them. I also have written about spas for several magazines including Travel and Leisure and Bon Appetit and just signed a deal with Time Warner for a series of coffee books. I now get paid to be pampered – life’s crazy isn’t it?
