Today's Featured Biography
Don Izbicki
"Rameyite" from 1968 to 1972. Would have been a "75" bomber. Father transferred to Offutt AFB, Nebraska in June 1972. Attended Univ. of Nebraska (GO BIG RED!). Wanted to be an oceanographer ("Save the Whales" generation). Finally dawned on me that there were no oceans in Nebraska. Transferred to ODU in Norfolk, Virgina. Obtained a degree in marine ecology and like most oceanography graduates, ended up doing something else, in my case, a Health Physicist with the Navy. Married to Kathy (definitely the better half for putting up with me)for 32 years as of this date. Took Kathy for a visit to Ramey which brought back lots of memories.
"Surfer's Beach" below the "O-Club",dodging the "light" at Borinquen Point,the football field up the hill from the runway,"biking" the roads of Ramey,bus trips to "away" games,the "PR" kicked back lifestyle,"Crashboat" beach, and I too miss the "shacks" at San Antonio beach. I relish in the fact that unlike some of us...Tiger Woods never had to make a shot on the fairway while a B-52 was making a LOW landing approach run.
