I've been married to Bill for 25 years and have a wonderful life up here in the wilds of Connecticut. Bill has been teaching social studies and psychology for 38 years and does not talk about retiring. So I just keep doing medical transcription here at home and waiting for him to at least mention it! Son Greg lives only 6 miles away with wife Robin. Greg teaches at Woodstock Academy where Bill teaches. He also teaches social studies. Robin works there too as a campus supervisor. Grandchildren Brendan and Mackenzie at both at the University of Connecticut. Brendan is a junior--engineering major and Kenzie is a sophomore in family studies. They are only half an hour away which is great! We are owned by two cats, Sweet Pea and Cupcake, who tolerate us because we know how to open the food cans. All in all, I am having a great life. We have a boat that we keep in Norwich, CT, 40 miles away, and go there every weekend, even winter, just to get away from everything. I'm hoping to get to the reunion, but don't know yet. It would be wonderful to see you all!
1/1/2007 This seems like a good day to update my information. Surprise, surprise! Bill has decided to retire at the end of this school year. And when Bill decides to do something, he does it in a big way. This past summer we went to Florida and purchased the most beautiful motor home I've ever seen. It even has a fireplace. So on July 10 we are taking off on the trip of a lifetime--at least for me. We are going to travel across the United States, something I've always wanted to do, and then head to Florida for the winter. We haven't decided on selling the house yet. We just want to take this trip and then decide on the future. Anyway, I am so looking forward to traveling. Does anyone have any suggestions for "must see" places in the U.S.? I can hardly wait!

The Selinsgrove Rotary Club presented their annual Distinguished Service Award to Pete and Mary Anne “Cookie” DeWire at an awards dinner held at the Susquehanna Valley Country Club. The award recognizes individuals in the community who, by their actions, live Rotary’s motto of Service Above Self. The DeWire's have been very active in many aspects of the Selinsgrove area community for many decades. Their most recent volunteer efforts have helped shape East Snyder Park, a recreational area just West of the Selinsgrove. "Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
