Raymond Farman

After graduation from high school I attended the University of Oregon where I met my wife Nancy. We were married in June of 1966. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon and then we spent 3 years moving around (Washington, Arizona, Indiana, North Carolina and Germany) while I was serving in the Military. We sure loved living in Heidelberg, Germany. After leaving the Military I completed a Masters of Education degree at the University of Oregon and started teaching in Roseburg, Oregon. Our daughter and son were born during the 15 years we lived in Roseburg. For an adventure we joined the Department of Defense Dependent Schools system in 1987 and moved our family (Nancy, Kari and Brett and I) to Seoul, Korea where I worked in elementary education for 2 years before transferring to Europe. We enjoyed living in Viernheim, Germany, near Heidelberg for over 20 years. I worked for the DOD in education where I was responsible for integrating technology into the curriculum at the middle school which means I do a lot of co-teaching with the teachers. Never a dull moment! We enjoyed living in Europe near Heidelberg, Germany and exploring Europe. We regret that we have not been able to attend the class reunions and stay in touch as many of the reunions have been held in the fall when we are back in Mannheim, Germany. Our wake up call came when I was diagnosed with Leukemia but aggressive chemo therapy treatments continues to keep my Leukemia in remission. We retired in June of 2008 and moved Hansville Washington on Puget Sound but recently moved to Ridgefield just north of Portland, Oregon. We look forward to getting back in touch with our Eugene roots as well as traveling and enjoying our 3 grand kids. Retirement keeps us very busy but we allow time for traveling as well as additional time to spend family and friends.
