Today's Featured Biography
Ed Simpson
Married 29 years this May 30th, 2009
Two children, Chris (36) Nicole (25)
Two grandchildren, Kerston (7) Tucker(11 months/will be 1 yr old June 18th, 2009
Wife: Teresa, retired from DHS, works P.T. @ Dean McGee Eye Institute
I've worked for DHS 21 years as of this past Jan.2009
Well I have never been outside the U.S. and haven't seen all of the sites the U.S. has to offer but I have been to a few states.
Lived in Albuquerque N.M. for a few months Spent a few months in Minneapolis doing the training and hiring, been to numerous others on trips and vacations and our favorite place is Myrtle Beach S.C.. Worked in various capacities until I met my 2nd wife who I have been with now for 29 years. I've been with DHS in Contracts & Purchasing for 21 years.
I now have two grandsons(my daughter's and son-n-law) and one granddaughter from my son.
My son is a State Trooper on the Will Rogers Turnpike so drive careful when traveling that route :-), he has told me he has stopped a few people who told him they knew his dad. That probably got them a ticket. ha!ha!
I took up Martial Arts when I was 38. Started in a style called Bushido Kye, then I went to Tae Kwon Do where I stayed in it for over 10 years. I competed in three tournaments which was fun. I only lost my first one but did come in 2nd in fighting and 1st in forms (Hyungs, in Korean)and won 1st in the other two. I guess being older and having to compete with 17 year olds and up, maybe I was a bit intimidating but then again maybe I was just lucky. Anyway, I got to 2nd degree Black Belt and then taught Self-Defense for the Blind in OKC for two and half years which was different but fun and very rewarding and not in the monetary sense. I only chraged them $5.00 a month and they got 4 classes a month so I was able to give back what I was taught and I was also teaching self-defense for a group of ladies that worked in the same building at the state capital and taught that one for three years and then had to have cancer surgery in 2002 so I put the martial arts on hold for a while. I started again a few years later with a friend at his church taking Shorin Ryu and got up to a green belt and then life got even busier so I bowed out to spend more time at home.
I still enjoy working out but have more fun with my grandkids and working on my 5 acres. Mostly mowing I think, or at least it seems that way.
The good Lord has blessed me in more ways than I ever deserved. I did spend a few years playing drums and other percussion in a Praise Band and we did Prison Ministry at what is now Mable Bassett Correctional Facility. That was an amazing time. I think I was more blessed that the inmates who attended the services and they were awesome.
I had rotator cuff surgery this past October from the results of a fall on the ice 2 years prior whle going out to feed my dogs while still wearing my good shoes. I now have 4 anchors in my right shoulder but it is coming along very well.
My daugher just had the second grandson, Talon James Wilkins so life has been very good and I thank the Lord everyday!
Thats pretty much my life since highschool..okay, what I can remember :-)
Hpefully I will get to see a lot you in the future at other reunions.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
