Sharon Brown Woodruff

1992 - Husband is Director of Nursing, Medical Personnel Pool. Hobbies Jim and I are avid boaters. Have 42 ft. houseboat. I enjoy reading and needlecrafts. Also sew a lot for the grandkids. Whitmer memorable experience: The proms are a happy memory - but most memorable was burning my arm with nitric acid in chem class. Valuable thing I have learned: That life is too short to be taken seriously - relax and smell the flowers. How I have changed: I've gained self confidence. Love public speaking and management. Also gained weight.
1997 - Sharon has 5 grandchildren. She enjoys her grandchildren tremendously and also does a lot of boating, reading, needlework. She has been a Director of Nursing for about 8 yrs
2007 - I thought it'd be pretty hard to sum up 45 years on the back of this page but, after putting pen to paper, I'm not sure I can write a paragraph! I've not become a rocket scientist, just a retired nurse. I've not written a best seller, but I sure have read a lot of them. I've not traveled to Tibet to climb Mt. Everest but I sure enjoy my daily 3 mile walk in my Tennessee hills.
I've not discovered a cure for cancer but I have discovered that getting older isn't for wimps. I've not produced a Broadway show but I have produced (or should I say contributed"" in the production of) 3 wonderful productive human beings - my children. Jodie is 44 tomorrow. She and husband Marty have 3 growing kids. Tricia is 22 and will be giving birth to her 2nd child in Sept. Her 1st is John, and adorable 3 yr old red-head. Marty Jr is 18. He does springboard diving and was 4th in the state this year. He'll be off to college in the fall. Then there is CJ! He is 7. Even if he wasn't my little clone, I'd still think he was gorgeous, brilliant and talented beyond belief. Jim and his wife Missy have 1 son who is 10 now. His name is JR and he's given us the privilege of learning about Ashbarger's Syndrome, a challenging form of autism which makes the child extremely bright in 1-2 areas, normal in most others but very lacking in social skills. JR can do complicated math problems in his head in seconds and has written several children's books that have been published. He plays soccer on a team but requires very close monitoring because he can become violent with what appears to us to be a little provocation. Strange disease! My "baby" turned 40 this year. how can that be? She has 2 kids. Amber just turned 17 this year, will be a Jr. in high school in the fall, has never had a B on report card and is involved in every social group from Marching Band to People To People.
Oh yes, and she's in love! Jeffrey is almost 14. Like the rest of my family he is handsome, brilliant and charming. He says his main claim to fame in school is being Amber Copp's little brother"" and he figures to use it to his advantage whenever possible! Gee, several paragraphs later, my To-Date-Accomplishments look pretty dag-gun good to me. Yep, I'm a Tennessee Hillbilly now!
