Today's Featured Biography
Dolen Butler
After graduation I enrolled at Mount Vernon Nazarene College in Mount Vernon, Ohio to pursue training for the ministry. I met my future wife, Ruth, there. We have been married 42 years. We have one son, Ryan, who is in his final year of medical school. He is married and they have blessed us with two granddaughters, ages 8 and 5.
After graduating with a bachelor's, two master's and a doctorate in religion, I pastored for a few years. For the past 33 years, however, I have served as a higher education administrator and professor in Christian Colleges. Along the way I picked up another master's degree and a PhD in not-for-profit leadership. My wife is a nurse who has practiced her craft for over 40 years.
I currently work for Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO where I serve as Vice President for Finance and professor. We hope to retire soon and re-locate to Florida where the weather is warmer.
My father died recently, but my mother still lives in the same house in which I was raised in Munroe Falls. I get back to Ohio once or twice a year.
