Today's Featured Biography
Judy Dodd Marvin
Howard Marvin and I married in 1965 and lived in Fairlawn, and Northfield,then moved to Hudson, Ohio, and lived there until 1980, when we moved to Moore Haven, Florida. I worked in Akron at Ohio Edison as a secretary for 17 years. In Moore Haven, I worked at Glades Electric Cooperative, a rural electric company for 28 years, the last 16 years as Executive Assistant to the CEO. I retired in 2009.
We have one child, Wayne, who lives in Orlando and works at Walt Disney World. His wife, Soumaya is from Morrocco, and she works at Sea World. They have twins, age 7 (Zachary and Hannah). Wayne has an older daughter from his first marriage, Alexandra, age 20, who is working at a law firm.
I enjoy traveling, walking,aerobics, yoga, reading and being with my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren who live two hours away.
Here's a footnote about Moore Haven, Florida (located on the west side of Lake Okeechobee). It is the County seat for Glades County, and the population is about 16,000 people. There are only three traffic lights in the whole county, there is one grocery store (but has recently closed), five gas stations, one fast food restaurant (Burger King), seven churches and two prisons. Glades County got its name from being close to the Everglades. There are lots of citrus and sugar cane groves here. We have seen alligators crossing the streets and have to dodge so we don't wreck our car.
