After high school, I worked summers in highway construction. I graduated from the University of Montana in 1979 with a B.S. in Business and a Communications minor. While in college, I joined Sigma Chi, served as Associated Students Business Manager, and was President of the Interfraternity Council.
After graduation, I traveled around Europe for two months with my brother, Lee, through International Student Exchange. That fall, I married my wife, Catherine Lee, in Billings. We then moved to Portland, Oregon, where I managed restaurants and took programming classes at The Computer Career Institute.
For the next 40 years, I worked as an application programming developer, both as an employee and contractor, in the trucking and power industries. I retired this May from Portland General Electric as a Senior Application Developer, specializing in F5 and Panorama security applications. We moved to Vancouver, Washington, with EDS in 1992.
We have four children, all graduates of Washington universities, and I spent 30 years coaching soccer, from 5-year-olds to Premier level. In retirement, we enjoy taking cruises and traveling. We’re excited to be heading to southern Italy for a month, where my youngest daughter is getting married in Sorrento.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
