Today's Featured Biography
Thomas Moore
Tom Moore here. After graduation, I attended Eastern for a short time. Wasn't doing very well so wrote to the draft board and told them that IF they wanted me, come and get me. Six weeks later I was in the Army at Ft. Lewis, Washington. After basic, I went to Ft. Monmouth, NJ. Studied photo equipment repair. Was asked to stay as an instructor but didn't care for it there. Next day had orders for Viet Nam, coundn't change my mind. Spent a year in Nam doing several jobs, was sent to Ft. Hood, Texas where I left the service. Married Gwen Buckner (Senior High 64), Moved to Denver and attended a private school in Englewood studying camera repair. Was hired as an instructor before graduation and worked there for 10 years. Left there to work for a Chicago based office machine company. Did service work for them (UARCO) for almost 20 years before being let go. We were bought out by one of our competitors. Went to work for a Denver company servicing water coolers and coffee brewers. Did this for about 13 years then pulled the plug and retired...
Gwen and I have no children and both love to travel so have done quite a bit of that. Had to put new axles under our trailer on the way to Billings for #50 reunion, bummer!! Have been married to Gwen for 46 years now and have had a really great life. Hope to continue this "string" for as long as possible.
Love to hunt, both rifle and archery, fish. yard work and just do whatever whenever I want. RETIREMENT is pretty great.....
2024 Update:
I keep busy by camping, fishing,doctors appointments, etc
Gwen and I have been married almost 56 years. Been in our first home for over 54 years. Just enjoy life and each other.
