Today's Featured Biography
Cynthia Frey Grimes
It was amazing & fun to look at all the photos and hear Crosby, Stills & Nash; it made it seem like it just wasn't that long since we all spent nearly every day together. Some of the names & faces I remember from Lewis & Clark and even from Poly Drive Elementary, from which Dawn McMorris Kelly and Cherly Johnson Morgan remain dear & treasured friends. I love when they come to visit!
After high school I attended college at Eastern, worked for awhile as the bar manager for the Circle Inn & bartender at Ramada.
I left Billings in January of 1978, packed my car and drove to Phoenix, Arizona.
I lived there for one year before being transferred to Anchorage, Alaska to train cocktail waitresses for a new restaurant, Bobby McGees. I drove the AlCan in January of 1979, it took a week! Oh, the spirit of youth.
Anchorage at that time was all you have ever heard about the Last Frontier, other than nobody lived in igloos.
There I met the love of my life, Mike Grimes, a homicide detective with Anchorage PD. We have been together since Jan. of 1980 and I married Mike & his two children, Matthew & Jennifer, in 1983.
I sold real estate in Anchorage from 1983-2001. I was actually very good at it & received the CRS of the Year award for Alaska, which more than likely doesn't mean anything unless you are a Realtor.
I was also Dean of the GRI Board of Governors, served on the state Grievance Committee, chaired the Anchorage Grievance Committee for many years, VP of the Anchorage Board, etc, etc.
I really enjoyed being active in the education of professionalism & ethics for Alaska Realtors.
Mike retired in 1999 as a nationally renowned homicide detective. If you have ever watched FBI Untold Stories or Forensic Files, you have probably seen him.
In 2001, we moved from Alaska to Panama City Beach, Florida to be near my widowed father-in-law & in 2003, we bought our 4 bedroom beach cottage.
We did travel extensively for many years but we now have two beautiful granddaughters we see all the time & a grandson on the way.
We absolutely love living on the Emerald Coast; the waters are blue-green like the Caribbean, the beaches have sugar white sand & we are close to many great golf courses. However, Billings will always be home; my Mom, sisters and great friends are still there and summer in the Rockies will always be a favorite place in time.
I don't know yet if I will make the reunion but wish all a great time.
Fabulous job on the website-thanks to all who made it happen!

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
