Today's Featured Biography
Ronald Hicks
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of the only God, who came to die for our (my) sins, so that anyone who believes this will be forgiven from their sins and have everlasting life. Jesus will be coming back to Earth soon, to take his people to be with Him forever.
The Bible says, if you deny Me (Jesus) in front of your peers, I (Jesus) will deny you in front of my (His) Father (God).
------ ME ------
I have always been just plain ol' me.
My school life is just a blur. We moved around so much, I never put down roots.
Westport H.S. gave me recognition in sports. A little football, a little track and field [a sprinter]. Records held on the weight lifting team. Found my place in life in drafting. I ran the movie projectors throughout the school. Also attended Central High School & Paseo High School.
Raytown H.S. was a let down from the gang wars of Westport etc.. "Society" was everything. I submersed myself in the Federally sponsored 2 hour drafting class (1 hr before school began). Honor society, but no socializing.
I earned the Silver Award and God & Country in Scouting's Air Explorers. Mic-O-Say. Scouting adult leader. University of Scouting graduate.
CMSU began my Engineering studies, and God gave me Sylvia.
Good choices kept me out of the war, gave me my wife, a place to live, tropical fish, a baby girl, and 19+ years at Burns & McDonnell. Electrical, audio and lighting design of MCI Airport and The "K" Sports Complex.
I received extensive training in audio/video systems. Led design team in design of many TV production studios and Low Power TV stations.
Became Production Director for Kansas City Baptist Temple's broadcast TV program for many years.
I went to work for Video Masters (VMI), as Director of Low Power Television design and led design of over 50 television and production studios throughout the USA.
Worked for Black & Veatch in both Industrial Division and Federal Divisions. Assisted in setting up their California office and Class 1 clean rooms for Intel. Onsite design representative in Manassas Virginia, Trips to Spain as lead electrical designer of classified stuff, w/paper tiger rank of Major, for NATO/USAF Airbase design.
Worked for BES/Olsson Company as Project Manager of AMC Theatre design.
Went to work for the great company Henderson Engineers (HEI), as Code Compliance Specialist over Wal-Mart store design, later over all electrical design projects for the company. HEI was a Christian managed company, and a total pleasure to work for.
Pai-Ta-Lum [White Dragon Style] Kung-Fu.
Retired now... enjoying church. Was chairman of the SPT and as church photographer & Usher. I am now chairman of the church Security Team.
Also Sylvia and I enjoy cruising the seas.
Sylvia and I have two great kids, Paulette and Darryl, and six wonderful grandchildren, Emily, Mackenzie, Ellie Joy, Holly, Jubilee (from Polly), and Camden (from Darryl).
God is good, and the life He has given to me could not have been better.
