Today's Featured Biography
George Thurmond
A short-timer at the school-- my father was in the Army when I arrived in the 11th grade or so, I graduated 1970 from RHS, attended Loyoloa University of the South in New Orleans, met my future bride, commissioned in the Army in 74, married later that year. Spent 1st tour as an officer in the Arctic Light Infantry, then the next couple of decades in and out of US Army Special Forces. Graduate of Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces, Pathfinder, Amphib Recon, BUDS, Air Assault, and a bunch of other quals. Army sent me for my MS in the 80's, did my PhD in the 90's, retired in mid 90's and did a stint with a "beltway bandit" then GA Tech. Raised over 20 kids with my bride of 30+ years and currently live on a lovely lake east of Atlanta GA near some of my older kids and a grandchild (have 4 now ). Oldest buddy is Terry Portman (now retired from the USMC) who graduated with me in 70. Still have two siblings and families living in the (Ruskin) area.
