Today's Featured Biography
Tammy Vandal Mitttuch
Well, to understand the end of my story, I need to back up a little to when I was about nine years old... it was then that my dad shared with me that God loved me so much, that He died on the cross for me, and that all I needed to do was to believe in Him and I could go to heaven and be friends with Him forever! I was thrilled with the idea, so I did just that, and we've walked this journey of life together ever since then...from Bamber Valley to Willow Creek to Mayo and on to my next big step in life, college. I went to the Univ. of Minnesota, had some ups and downs along the way, and graduated with a degree in Mass Communications, emphasizing in public relations. I was hoping to spend my time planning large corporate events, but instead I began as a publicist at a PR firm in Minneapolis and was bored to death with my job. It was at that time that two things happened, I began evaluating what I really wanted to do for the rest of my life and my dad passed away from lung cancer. I moved back to Rochester to spend time with my mom, and during that time I pondered long and hard what I wanted to do with my future. After much thought and prayer, I decided that I wanted to spend my time helping others develop what has made me happiest in life, my relationship with Jesus. So, to make a long story short, I came on staff with a college ministry called Campus Crusade for Christ (which I was involved with at the U) and spent the following summer training with them in Colorado. It was there that I met my east-coast husband Rob.
And that brings me to where I am now...Rob and I have been working with college students for 12 years and have been in New Jersey for the last 10 of them. We have have three children, two girls, Ellie (8) and Mackenzie (4), yes, I have "Jersey girls" but thankfully we no longer have "big hair" here. And we have a sweet little special-needs boy, Trey (6), who is still not talking and is developing slowly.
I have grown so much since my time at Mayo High School as I'm sure we all have. It's all those, "if I had only known then what I know now" feelings that make me squirm but it's all the fond memories and shared experiences that make me smile.
Thanks for being a part of my journey,
Much love,
Tammy :)

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
