PENNY SCHRADER LEE

Greetings to all my Classmates of MHS 1965!

Frank Lee (MHS Class of 1961) and I have been married 47 years. Our family consists of 2 sons/daughters-in-law, 3 granddaughters ages 24 years, 14 years and 2 months old; plus 1 grandson age 10. In June 2015, we were bessed with our first great-grandchild! Our family resides about 3.5 hours drive from us in Howell and Canton MI.

When Frank retired from GMPG in 2001, we moved "up north" to the small town of Oscoda and now live about a mile from the beautiful sandy shores of Lake Huron. For over 20 years, we have enjoyed boating together and with friends on all the Great Lakes plus other waterways like the TN River. Now, we enjoy boating here on Lake Huron, as well as pontooning on 3 gorgeous pristine lakes that are formed by dams on the mighty AuSable River and surrounded by the Huron National Forest. This area offers a wealth of nature and outdoor recreation and is "vacationland" for downstaters.

Each year, Frank and I leave MI after our family Thanksgiving weekend celebration to head for the "Sunshine State" where we lease a condo on the Gulf of Mexico in Dunedin FL for 4 months. We are still working on visiting all 50 states and in 2013 enjoyed a month on our 6800 mile road-trip exploring "Out West" on the long way home to MI from FL. Our little 11-year-old Chorkie dog, Tiny-Brutus, travels with us.

Most of my 30+ year work career was spent as an Executive Secretary to CEOs/CFOs of several small corporations and later as Administrative Manager over other office staff. In 2007, I became a MI Licensed Real Estate Salesperson and annually am a Multi-Million Dollar Sales Producer with Sunrise Realty of Oscoda, keeping my summers very busy!

Besides boating, traveling, visiting lighthouses, and backyard birding; my passion is gardening and our yard is filled with hundreds of flowers, veggies, berries and herbs. I completed the MSUE Master Gardener course several years ago and currently serve as president of the Oscoda Garden Club.

You may remember me as a shy girl in high school, but obviously since then I've morphed into a "social butterfly!" Besides Garden Club, I now am active in 4 other local organizations and my favorite role is serving (for the 6th year) as "Queen" (leader) of The Huron Gadabouts Chapter of The Red Hat Society.
