Today's Featured Biography
Mike Urich
Joined the Navy right out of high school. I have over 22 years in the Navy, but plan on doing at least 3 more before I retire. I'm currently stationed on USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723) at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard undergoing a 2-year major overhaul. Prior duty locations include San Diego; La Maddalena, Italy; Pearl Harbor; Saratoga Springs, NY; Norfolk, VA; and Orlando, FL. I've been all over the world, courtesy of the Navy and our tax dollars (although the method of travel could have been improved upon...2 previous submarine tours and 3 years on an aircraft carrier). Married Katie (originally from Cape Elizabeth, Maine) while stationed in Saratoga. Katie graduated from the University of Hawaii while we were stationed in Pearl Harbor for 5 years. Katie is currently a stay-at-home mother taking care of the kids, our dog, 4 cats and 8 chickens. My daughter Taylor just turned 15 on New Years Eve and is a 9th grader at Noble High School (her first year of public school...she was home-schooled up until this year). My twin boys, Casey and Corey, will turn 6 in March and are in kindergarten. If you know me and want to give me a shout, feel free to drop a line. Ciao, Mike U
