Today's Featured Biography
John Greenfield
I've been teaching English (literature, writing, and language)at McKendree College in Lebanon IL, which is about 20 miles east of St. Louis, since 1984. I teach a wide variety of courses and direct the Honors Program.
I still love playing golf and usually get back to Peru in the summer to play a few rounds with Park Cutler and Chuck Bunnell. I also enjoy playing tennis (though I have to be careful with my knees doing that, having had some knee surgery last year). I enjoy various cultural and sports events in the St. Louis area. I have taken up Tai Chi and highly recommend it for those of us who need to work on flexibility and balance.
In a certain sense, Peru will always be home, and the Peru Muni still feels like my home course. I enjoy coming back for the various reunions. The 2005 one was terrific!
I'm not certain when I will retire from college teaching. There are some things I still enjoy, such as the classroom teaching, and some things I don't much enjoy, such as grading papers and going to committee meetings. I'm guessing I might retire in four to six years and then hope to devote full time to golf and reading and movies, etc.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
