Anne Chamberlain

I'm living in Hollywood and am happily married. I recieved my B.A. in History at Indiana University in 1987. I recieved my M.F.A. in Cinema & Photography from Southern Illinois University in 1995. I then moved to California and have lived there in either San Francisco or Los Angeles, most of the time since (with brief stints in Hawaii and New Mexico in between).

I have been teaching film courses at the college level on and off for almost 20 years. I have taught at City College of San Francisco and currently I teach at Academy of Art University. Although AAU is located in SF, I teach entirely online from Los Angeles, and I have authored the online course content for 4 classes including "Documentary," "Motion Picture Theory" "Women Directors" and "The Beatles in the Visual Arts" (a course which should surprise none of you who remember my obsession with the band!).

For over twenty years, I have also freelanced in various aspects of the film industry, including work as a documentary videographer and as a 'bit part' actress. I've written and directed several independent short films which have screened around the world. I live with my wife, actress Megan Cavanagh who you may know from her roles in "A League of Their Own," "Robin Hood: Men in Tights," "Home Improvement" and countless televison appearances and cartoon voices.

Megan and I were married in 2008, when same sex unions were legalized in California. We remain one of the 18,000 couples still legally wed as Proposition 8 is debated in the courts. I am step mother to Megan's son Brendan who is currently a Junior at the University of Colorado, Boulder where he is a double major in Chinese and International Affairs. He is a big music fan and drives a campus bus during the school year, and also works as a kids camp counselor in the summers.

We are very proud of Brendan and thrilled that he did not pursue the unpredictable lives we've known in show business! Brendan has visited China, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, the Czech Republic and Canada. He was blessed in the womb by Madonna, visited Michael Jackson's 'Neverland' (Jackson wasn't there) as a kid, and his first concert was front row for The Rolling Stones. He is very cool!
